Low Vision Clinic
The Low Vision Clinic serves individuals with visual impairment and reduced functional vision.
For patients affected by retinal and optic nerve diseases such as macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, diabetes, and others, conventional eyeglasses often do not provide optimal visual improvement. These patients face daily challenges, including difficulty recognizing faces, reading and writing, restricted visual fields, watching television, using computers, and even navigating their home and surroundings. Such limitations significantly impact independent functioning, daily activities, and overall quality of life.
The Low Vision Clinic is dedicated to individuals with low vision and offers comprehensive evaluations along with the latest optical and digital rehabilitation solutions, aimed at improving and restoring functional vision. Our goal is to enable patients to regain independence and perform everyday tasks that were previously limited by their visual impairment.
The clinic provides access to a wide range of visual aids, including:
Specialized magnifying spectacles
Telescopes
Optical filters
Handheld and stand magnifiers
CCTV and electronic magnification systems
Additional advanced assistive technologies
We invite you to schedule a diagnostic evaluation at the School of Optometry and Vision Science. Examinations are conducted by final-year optometry students under the supervision of a senior low vision optometrist.
